I'm quite sure that there is a god. My theory goes like this: This is going to be some sort of proof by contradiction or "Reductio ad absurdum". Let's consider that there is no god and start thinking in a rational, scientific way. I assume the precondition that there is not nothing. I think, even a solipsist would agree with this. There is at least me thinking. If something exists, there are two and only two possibilities: 1) It has been existing forever. 2) It came to existence at some time. I think, possibility 1) can be ruled out. If something has been existing forever it has never come into existence. How can something exist that has never come into existence? It's impossible. Possibility 2) can be ruled out either. If something came to existence at some time, before that there must have been nothing. How can something appear from nowhere and out of nothing? Also, if there's nothing, there's also no time. Without time there's no change. Without change, how can change nothing into something then? It's impossible too. So, there we are. There are only two possibilities and both are impossible. So I think we have to leave the rational path and assume that there is some supernatural entity that somehow created something out of nothing without having ever having come into existence itself. It sounds crazy, but it is less unlikely than all the other options. I must state that even a proof that god exists would not change the fact that we know nothing about it and wouldn't prove any religion to be right or wrong.
